In addition to the deposit, Happy Cat Hotel requires copies of up-to-date rabies and distemper vaccination records to be provided in advance of check-in. FeLV/FIV (“snap”) test results are preferred but not required. If you are not in possession of your cat’s medical records, Happy Cat will contact your veterinarian to obtain them. Happy Cat Hotel also requires a profile to be filled out for you and your cat in advance of a reservation for new clients, and a set of standard waivers.
We operate our check in and out hours similar to a human hotel; check-in is 4pm to 5:30pm and check-out is 8:30am to 10am, 7 days a week. We do offer early check-in and late check-out for an additional fee. Early check-in allows you to arrive as early as 12pm. Late check-out allows you to arrive as late as 2pm.
We have limited check in and check out hours on Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. Check-ins are restricted to 12:30pm-2pm and check-outs are restricted to 8:30am-10am. Early and late extensions are not permitted on these days.
Our reception & reservation center is closed on Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day. Check-ins and check-outs are not permitted on these days.
Yes! We have plenty of food available for a small fee if they run out, but it’s best to bring your cat’s own food to maintain their regular diet during the stay.
No. For sanitation and maintenance purposes, we supply all litter boxes as well as litter. We use an all-natural pine pellet litter that almost all cats take to with surprising ease. We also have a corn based (World’s Best Cat Litter™) litter for a small fee.
Please note that we do not accept diabetic cats.
Our staff is trained to administer most types of medications that owners are trusted to administer at home. Although we do make every effort to meet the needs of our guests, not every cat is the right fit for boarding. If your cat takes medication, and we have not medicated your cat previously, we will need to speak with you to determine if we will be able to accept the reservation. If we are able to accept the reservation, please also bring any items you use when medicating your cat, such as pill pockets, syringes, etc.
We love first-timers here! Our unique and professional approach to feline care promises to serve your cat’s needs, whatever they may be! Whether you’ve got a friendly feline, a scaredy-cat, a kitty with a little “cattitude,” or just a plain old weirdo, we’re equipped with the knowledge, patience, compassion, toys, room furnishings, exercise options, and more to ensure that your cat has nothing short of our signature Happy Cat experience! Oh, and let’s not forget the catnip!
No, however we have a securely locked and alarmed facility accessible only by Happy Cat Hotel staff. Our security system will detect any kind of emergency and notify us immediately.
Yes! We welcome visiting parents or close family for our guests during our business hours, by appointment. You can schedule your visit by contacting our front desk. We ask that you do so at least 24-hours in advance. Please note, the duration of visits may be limited during our busiest seasons.
And that’s okay! Even cats with friendly reputations can react to cats they don’t know with some hissing, growling, and even the occasional right hook. This is all very normal, but don’t worry – cats staying at the Happy Cat Hotel are never in contact with other cats (unless they live together at home). The guests can see each other through windows and doors, but once they’ve settled in, cats understand that the other guests are secured behind these doors and windows and they don’t pose a threat! Even feisty felines get used to seeing each other and become very good at ignoring each other (you know, just like they do to you at home).
Depending on the volume of guests in the hotel and behavior during lobby time, each guest will have the opportunity to come out of the room for a minimum of 15 minutes each day and roam the halls, occupy the front window, watch the bird feeder, or whatever it is your cat chooses to do! We’ll never force a guest out of the room if they aren’t ready. Instead, our attentive staff will happily provide in-room comfort, exercise, affection, treats, brushing, play, and more. Lobby time is optional for all guests, however we strongly encourage it as part of the full Happy Cat experience. Any guest may be allowed lobby time, however for the safety and comfort of all our guests, lobby time is at the discretion of Happy Cat Hotel staff and contingent on good behavior. Most importantly, cats from different families are NEVER, under any circumstances, allowed lobby time at the same time. Safety is a key value of the Happy Cat Hotel. Guests enjoying lobby time can do so without any possibility of encountering another cat.
In accordance with state and federal regulations, all guests must be up to date on their rabies vaccine. If your kitten hasn’t yet been vaccinated for rabies they unfortunately may not board with us until vaccinated.
We’re happy to provide long term “extended stay” boarding, however we don’t have a standard discount structure in place, as rates can depend on volume, peak or holiday seasons, and availability. Please give us a call with details about your extended stay and we’d be more than happy to see what we can do for you and your cat(s).
If your cats are a bonded pair or get along well at home, they may be housed in the same room together. If your cats are not familiar with each other (one or both new to the household or each other) we recommend booking a separate room for each cat. Please note there is an additional charge.
